Sun wins Indian desktops with Linux, StarOffice

Sun Microsystems has landed a significant deal with the government of Haryana, an Indian state with about 31,000 desktops, according to a report in the Sunday Business, London. Under terms of the agreement, Sun says that StarOffice will run on Linux-based PCs. Sun's solution was selected over Microsoft products, and is expected to save the government money.
