| Homemade Firefox videos to become TV ads |
Dec. 06, 2006
Mozilla announced today that Firefox browser fans are underwriting four 30-second videos to air on U.S. primetime TV this month. The ads were produced by Firefox fans in response to this year's "Firefox Flicks Video" campaign, which resulted in approximately 300 homemade clips about the browser.
By going to TV audiences, Mozilla will be reaching many people who don't realize how much their web browser impacts their online experience, a Mozilla spokeswoman told DesktopLinux.com.
Mozilla fans can get involved with this grassroots push by helping pay for air time. In return, their names will be incorporated into the commercials when they air on TV.
The first set of ads selected to air include "Billy's Browser," "Web for All," "Daredevil," and "This Is Hot." You can view the four videos by visiting FireFoxClips.com and clicking on "View Flicks."
