Gartner has released a "special report" that suggests "migrating PC desktops to Linux makes sense only in a very narrow, limited range of situations." The study offers one view of the TCO of migration to the Linux desktop that puts labor, administration costs, and "lost productivity stemming from learning curves" as key factors in driving up the cost of deploying Linux in an enterprise.
