German Heise Online is reporting that the city of Munich is looking to migrate to the Linux OS from Microsoft Windows. Concern over privacy and yearly fees are two main reasons for the change. The article hints that other German cities may follow suit as Munich is set to 'kick loose an avalanche'. According to the Babelfish translation . . .
"Approximately 10,000 PCS want no more with software from Microsoft run not to let the residents of Munich city administration, report the South German newspaper . The town councillor will give a study in order in the coming week, which is to examine whether it is worth itself for the city to transfer to open SOURCE often commodity so mentioned and the operating system Linux . . ."
