Aug. 25, 2005
GoblinX has released its first GoblinX Mini Edition, a light-weight version of the GoblinX Linux LiveCD operating system. The 150MB Mini Edition is for users who want to remaster it, and for those with difficulty downloading the full 300MB distibution, according to GoblinX.
The Mini Edition uses Xfce as its window manager and supports GTK/GTK2-based applications. It is based on Linux kernel 2.6.12.3 and has more drivers included as modules -- such as wireless drivers, TV, and telephone, and others -- than the full-sized distribution, GoblinX said.
The Mini Edition, dubbed version 1.2.0 to match the main distro, will enable newer versions to be released faster, and it will be used for tests and for system/hardware support improvements, GoblinX added.
