| Linux emerges as choice of top US IT leaders |

Silicon.com reports that top IT leaders in the US are selecting Linux as their OS of choice in a move to reduce costs. During a venture capital conference this week, the CIO of the Gap and a tech executive from Bank of America revealed their organization's move toward Linux. "Topping Gap's list of priority technology projects is "anything touching Linux," company CIO Ken Harris said. Bank of America is taking the Linux plunge, said Ralph Ziegler, a managing director in the company's technology and operations unit," according to the report.
