| Open source conference seeks speakers, exhibitors, attendees |

One Course Source has announced its first annual open source conference, set for Dec. 28-29 in San Diego, Calif. The organization says the "One Course Source - Open Source Conference" (OCS-OSC) aims to "[address] the growing demand for alternative technology solutions that cost-effectively support and sustain the corporate IT environment."
The OCS-OSC program includes a seminar series in which speakers and attendees discuss aspects of the integration of open source into Corporate IT. Planned session tracks include:
- Open Source Applications
- Open Source Development
- Open Source Operating Systems and Security
The Call for Presenters can be found here. It emphasizes a preference for open source professionals from the region who can align their topics with the foregoing session tracks, in a 45- to 90-minute presentation. Presentation proposals are due by July 25.
The venue at the San Diego Ramada Inn & Conference Center includes an exhibit hall open both days. Tickets include both breakfast and lunch buffets. Ticket pricing for attendees is based on registration date:- Register before Sept. 30 -- $299
- Register before Oct. 25 -- $349
- Regular registration -- $399
- Students -- $249
- Speakers -- Free
The group is actively seeking exhibitors. Exhibitors are being offered one-day booth space for $299, two days for $499. "Our booth spaces are limited (only 30) and they will be 8 x 6 feet with provided table and 2 chairs," said OCS-OSC coordinator Kirsten Partenheimer.
OCS-OSC has teamed with San Diego-based Technical Training Resources and Edustone CES as sponsors.
