Dec. 07, 2004
VA Linux Systems says it will soon release a scalable, open source messaging software suite that targets large enterprises and can handle huge email infrastructures with over a million email accounts. VA FlexMessaging Solution is touted as an "all-in-one messaging solution" that scales to address enterprise requirements for high-availability, high-performance, and extensibility.
According to VA Linux Systems, the soon-to-be-released VA FlexMessaging Solution will include: FlexMail, a Postfix-based high-performance mail transfer engine; FlexPOP, the original POP mailserver; FlexIMAP, a Courier-IMAP based server for large-scale mail systems; FlexML, a GNU Mailman-based feature-rich mailing list manager with easy-to-use Web-based interface; and a SPAM filtering solution called FlexGuard.
Tokyo-based VA Linux Systems specializes in developing technologies aimed at increasing Linux system reliability. Earlier this year, the company announced the release of a fault analysis tool, co-developed with NTT Data Corp., that collects and analyzes Linux system failure data. Last month, the company released open-source-based VA Directory software claimed to improve the efficiency of network service providers and enterprises who offer Web services and messaging to clients across remote locations.
VA Linux Systems says its new VA FlexMessaging Solution software suite is currently available for pre-order, and support programs will be offered early next year.
