Vnunet.com reports that end-users are propelling Linux demand. For resellers, that follow customer demand to derive revenues, "pent-up end-user demand, particularly among small and medium businesses (SMBs)" have put Linux on their radar. Adam Jollans, IBM worldwide Linux software marketing strategy manager, cites cost as a significant factor in enterprises moving toward Linux, but "some Microsoft Windows users had switched because of issues such as reliability, openness and licensing."
