| What's needed for Desktop Linux to succeed in the enterprise |

In an op-ed article at LXer.com, Tom Adelstein dispassionately surveys the list of incomplete features that need to be finished before desktop Linux can succeed in the enterprise. Peer-to-peer networking, functional printing, single sign-on to Active Directory, and a really good Device Manager (with a driver-get mechanism) are among the features companies are asking for, according to Adelstein.
And, Adelstein offers this warning: "The Linux desktop could fail if companies continue to pilot programs and conclude that it's less trouble to buy Microsoft. Everyone loses in that scenario."
