| Flirt with the cutting edge, with Mono Live |
May 25, 2005
This week, the Mono Project announced the release of Mono Live, a LiveCD allowing you to flirt with the Mono framework and Linux, without committing to installing a new distribution.
Bundled with Novell's SuSE 9.3, the much-talked about Mono framework supports programs designed for both Java and Microsoft's .NET frameworks. Developers have also created many native Linux apps for Mono, including the Beagle search tool, Tomboy Notes, and F-spot, most of which have impressed reviewers.
The Mono Live LiveCD includes . . .- Mono Framework 1.1.7
- MonoDevelop (for developers)
- the Muine music player
- Tomboy Notes
- the F-Spot photo manager
- the Beagle search tool
. . . as well as access to ASP.NET Forums, IBuySpy, and mojoPortal.
The Mono Live LiveCD is available now for download through BitTorrent or HTTP from the Mono Project.
