Codeweavers has released a new version of its CrossOver Office software, which now runs Apple's iTunes digital jukebox and supports music downloads from the iPod maker's online music store on Linux desktops.
CrossOver Office with support for iTunes debuted at LinuxWorld in August with a preview beta. CEO Jeremy White said at that time that iTunes support topped the list of most-requested software for Linux.
Adobe Framemaker publishing software and Oracle JInitiator, a web-based tool for Oracle databases, are also supported in CrossOver 4.0.
Codeweavers says its CrossOver Office software now supports over 35 popular Windows applications including Microsoft Office, Visio, and Internet Explorer, Intuit Quicken, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash, Adobe Photoshop, eFax, iPIX, QuickTime, Lotus Notes 6.51, Microsoft Outlook XP, Real Player, Windows Media Player, and other popular Windows-based applications.
CrossOver Office is bundled with desktop Linux distributions from Lycoris, SuSE, and Xandros. Standard and professional editions of the product are available with support from US $40.
