| Gotmail releases update, seeks volunteers |
Jun. 21, 2005
Version 0.8.4 of Gotmail, a perl script that automatically downloads email from MSN's Hotmail.com, is available for download and testing this week. Still a beta version, the latest release of Gotmail includes a number of bug fixes and merged patches, plus expanded utility, according to the project.
"While last release fixed the Hotmail.com page structure change, this release focused on optional features," writes developer Jon Phillips, noting that Gotmail 0.8.4 now supports not just MSN's Hotmail.com and MSN.com, but related domains such as Charter.com, Compaq.net, Hotmail.co.jp, Hotmail.co.uk, Hotmail.fr, Hotmail.it, and WebTV.net. Additionally, a Makefile added to the package now allows for easier install and uninstall of Gotmail and associated documentation.
The Gotmail project leaders request that interested developers take a look at Gotmail's project summary at SourceForge.net, and join the mailing list.
