Over the two-day programs, Linux system and network administration topics are covered. The curriculum includes detailed instruction on how to install, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Linux systems. Topics covered include: Installation, Post-Installation Configuration, User Management, Filesystem Management, Process Management, CLI vs GUI, Shell Scripting, Network Services, and Security.
The Linux Workshop program fulfills certification requirements and preps students for both the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Level 1 and CompTIA Linux+ certifcations, according to the Linux Training Center. The Center says that its Linux Workshops are led by a Red Hat Certified Engineer with over 20 years of IT experience.
Other local training programs have sprung up to serve regional markets, such as programs held at Mountain View, CA's Freedom Technology Center.
