AMD64-based Linux laptop ships with SuSE 9.1, Fedora Core 2

LinuxCertified has announced the availability of a new laptop that ships with Linux. The LC2464 laptop is based on a Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+, has a 15.4-inch high-resolution LCD, 512MB RAM, 40GB disk, built-in 802.11g Wireless support, and comes with SuSE Linux 9.1 AMD64 or Fedora Core 2 AMD64 pre-installed.

LinuxCertified says the units are ideally suited to developers, researchers, and engineers requiring a portable 64-bit environment. The company offers a line of Linux-powered laptops certified for a variety of Linux operating systems including Debian, Xandros, SuSE, Fedora, and Linspire.

The new LC2464 laptop sells for around US $2000 in North America, with quantity discounts available.
