Apr. 30, 2003
Lycoris' new GamePak has been released with 5 enhanced open source games and a free month of access to TransGaming's WineX technology that operates with over 250 Windows games including Everquest, Sim City 4, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and more, according to a joint announcement.
For the new release, Lycoris has added new sounds and graphics to several open source games -- TORCS, Possible Worlds, BZFlag, FreeCiv, and Falcon's Eye. BZFlag offers tank battle action and networked play. TORCS puts users in the driver's seat of the hottest cars. Possible Worlds offers 3D, underwater action from the cockpit of a futuristic submersible. FreeCiv grants users the ultimate power as rulers of their own civilization. Falcon's Eye pits users' wits against the dark dungeon.
Additionally, Lycoris and TransGaming have partnered to extend the WineX cross-platform gaming to Desktop/LX. A free one month trial gives Lycoris users access to blockbuster titles like Warcraft III, Grand Theft Auto 3, Diablo II, and Max Payne. WineX 3.0's new graphical user interface Point2Play simplifies the game-playing experience by evaluating system compatibility and enabling easy access to games.
Desktop/LX's GamePak is available with the TransGaming evaluation for US $34.95.
