KDE team offers glimpses of KDE 4.0, KOffice 2.0
Jun. 09, 2006

Developer Thomas Zander of the KDE team, in a brief article in KDE News, writes that the team is now busy working "on its future" --- KDE 4.0 – and that many of the ideas they want to incorporate into the future version of KOffice are already being developed.

KDE released v3.5.3 on May 31. KOffice 1.5.1 was released May 22.

"KOffice is starting new initiatives with libraries like Flake and Pigment that are going to be used for all KOffice applications," Zander writes. "For the users of KOffice, those changes are invisible until the 2.0 previews actually start to appear some months from now.”

Zander goes on to say that the team wants to show users what they hope to accomplish in the coming versions of KDE and KOffice. To read his whole "vision" article, go here.
