Novell's CTO Alan Nugent discusses the company's transition from a proprietary software maker to a top open source play for the enterprise in an interview at LinuxTimes.net.
Offering insight into the company's internal migration to Linux, Nugent points to a savings of $900k by not renewing Microsoft software licenses and reports that that over 2,700 Novell employees had successfully moved to Linux desktops by the end of last month. Novell had announced the company-wide move to open source in April.
