Mandrake Linux 9.2 free download hosts banner ads

MandrakeSoft is introducing ads in the Mandrake Linux 9.2 download edition. Touting their new "advertising tool", MandrakeSoft says that the banner ad-supported version will be distributed as a free download, on CDs distributed at trade shows, and via other special programs. Partners can buy bookmarks in web browsers or place ads to be shown during installation or as screensavers. This move may be a step in the right direction for the company, which has been plagued with financial problems.
