| GoblinX version of SLAX-based live CD rolls forth |

The GoblinX project team released its latest SLAX-based distribution, GoblinX Mini 1.4.0 live CD, on July 24. The release sports a 2.6.15 kernel and the Xfce windowing environment. The release boasts several important improvements, according to the team.
"The Liveupgrade, our live CD remaster tool, now has a new main window with all the options you can enable before creating your own live CD," the Brazil-based project team said in the release announcement.
"There are also several new GUIs ready to use: gtkDSL which is a graphical interface to configure accounts and start DSL connections; gtkSwap, used to create swap memory files; gtkQivss, a Qiv slideshow interface; gtkSplitz, to divide files into pieces; and gtkImods, to use with modules and install modules to the hard disk."
Key new features, as listed by the team, include:- added Splax, Gtkdialog, Guicompletion, Zenity, Hardinfo and Minimum Profit
- added several new GUI interfaces
- added Gnomebaker, Gnomesu, and Oxine.
- upgraded Linux live (v5.4.7)
- changed file livecd.sgn to golivecd.sgn.
- changed user autologin, now an added user can login without gdm
GoblinX is a bootable live CD distribution based on Slackware (now SLAX) Linux. The primary goal for GoblinX is to create a more pleasant and functional desktop, standardizing all icons and themes to make it easy for novice users to learn about available applications.
