Macromedia releases Flash Player for Linux |

Macromedia today announced the immediate availability of their Flash Player 7 for Linux. The software will be bundled with Linux operating systems distributed by Novell, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems, and Turbolinux said the San Francisco-based company in a statement today.
With the new release, Macromedia Flash Player offers native Linux port for customers with improved performance and security, along with new development capabilities including support for Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Macromedia says they worked with engineers from Sun Microsystems to port the Flash Player code to Linux.
