Jul. 31, 2006
Xandros 4 Home Edition Premium has just been reviewed by ExtremeTech.com, and overall, reviewer Jim Lynch seems quite impressed. Lynch pronounces the new release "one of the easiest to use and flat out slickest Linux distributions available."
This latest version of Xandros focuses on the "digital lifestyle" and includes wireless network profiles, a music manager with iPod and MP3 support, photo manager, video players, and Internet telephone via Skype, among other key features, Lynch writes. It also "provides good security tools such as a built-in firewall and anti-virus," he adds.
Lynch's review covers:- Introduction
- Installation
- The Desktop
- Applications
- Security in Xandros
- Problems with Xandros
- The Verdict
Despite the glowing comments cited above, Xandros isn't perfect, Lynch warns. Read his full Xandros review at our sister site, ExtremeTech.com, to learn his final verdict:
