IM Messaging platform aims for Linux enterprise
Oct. 30, 2003

Akeni has announced the immediate availability of a Instant Messaging Server Pro, a client/server instant messaging platform that allows companies to host their own secured private IM system. Similar to AIM, ICQ, or MSN Messenger, standard IM features such as chat, group conference, presence management, file transfer, offline messages and emergency alert/notification are supported. Extra features include contact management and optional tabbed chat sessions.

THe platform does not require internet connection to run in an enterprise. It is currently available for Linux and some versions of Microsoft Windows.

Detailed information on the server can be found here.
