Here's a review of the new StarOffice 6.0 beta by Sean Lamb of Linux Orbit. Lamb writes . . .
"One of the arguments that gets bandied about for not migrating to Linux is that of applications. Some users will state with no degree of uncertainty that documents created with the Microsoft Office suite simply cannot be viewed or edited in any application under Linux. I'm happy to say that these users are very wrong. StarOffice 6.0, from Sun Microsystems, fills this requirement and adds a few features of its own. In case you don't want to read the whole review to find out how I liked it, the short answer is that I was impressed with its capabilities and I'm sure I'll like it more as I use it more . . ."

Editor's note: I also downloaded the beta 6.0 of StarOffice, installed it, and am very pleased with its results so far. It even handles fonts and the linux printer very nicely. -- Rick
