Lindows.com lowers cost of "builders program"
Apr. 23, 2003

Lindows has introduced LindowsLite to their OEM program. This scaled down version of LindowsOS includes Internet browsing, email, IM, "easy networking," and 6 games. By scaling back the OS and reducing the cost of entry into their "builders program," Lindows hopes to entice smaller computer vendors to install LindowsOS on their systems. The new program will cost just $100 a year, according to the report.

To qualify for the program, participants must ship less than 100 machines a month. Members receive automatic digital distribution and have the opportunity to ship the full LindowsOS for an additional cost.
