RedHat set to launch new desktop Linux this Fall

Cyber India Online (CIOL) is reporting that Red Hat will enter the Linux desktop market this Fall. According to Red Hat's India director, Javed Tapia,the desktop will be based on the company's "Enterprise Linux kernel version 2.4.21" and would be available by October. Tapia offered that Red Hat "will begin discussions with OEMs for general availability of these versions soon. We hope to make desktops with this refined version of the OS available to the public by November of this year." No word on pricing was available.
