| BlueWhite64 Linux adds features and enhancements |

BlueWhite64 Linux v12.0, featuring a 2.6.21.5 Linux kernel with IA32-emulation, has been released on live CD and DVD ISOs. The distribution is aimed at pure 64-bit AMD64 Athlon, Opteron, Sempron, Turion, and Intel EM64T processors in desktops and servers.
In the eight months since the release of v11, the Bluewhite64 team has made numerous changes and upgrades and added new features and improvements, according to the team's announcement. The unofficial Slackware-based distribution has the following highlighted features according to a press release:
- Xfce 4.4.1 lightweight desktop
- KDE 3.5.7 desktop
- HAL support to enable USB flash and cameras, portable hard drives, CD and DVD media, MP3 players, etc
The development team says v12.0's advanced features include:- Two Linux kernels at boot, 2.6.21.5 and the latest stable version, 2.6.22
- Support for EXT2, EXT3, ReiserFS amd Xfs
- Support for IDE, SATA and SCSI subsystems, include RAID volumes, software RAID, LVMand KVM
- Network support for gigabit Ethernet adapters and WLAN, USB, Firewire, and TV tuners
Additionally, the project claims extensive application support, detailed here. Developer support, also strong, is detailed as well. The team has divided distribution content into numerous series, from A to X, to enable installation of a preferred environment in terms of performance and hardware support, according to the announcement.
