Apr. 11, 2003
Opera has announced the availability of its web browser, version 7.10 beta for Linux. This new release has "power browsing" capabilities, users can "speed up" web surfing by "letting the browser anticipate where they would like to go next," according to Opera.
The most significant change in this release for Linux is an integrated email client from M2. The mailer automatically categorizes and sorts e-mail messages, hosts a spam filter, and supports protocols including POP3, IMAP, and ESMTP.
"Rewind" and "FastForward" speed up browsing and photos can be viewed as a "Screenshow." Take online notes in Opera 7.1.0 and drag them to an email or save for reference and manage passwords with a new tool called "Wand."
Opera 7.1.0 was released for Linux and Windows today, marking the first time both platforms feature the same functionality simultaneously.
