Mar. 22, 2003
Bill Kendrick of New Breed Software has announced the creation of a new 'kids-friendly' project aimed at the Linux desktop: Tux Print.
Tux Print is going to be a simple document composer that will allow kids to publish one of a number of kinds of documents: Greeting cards, birthday cards, thank you cards, banners, posters, newsletters, and more.
Plans include an extremely simple interface (similar to Tux Paint's), a collection of included free clip-art graphics, support for PNG and, eventually, SVG graphics formats, access to Tux Paint saved images, multi-platform support (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS and others), and translations of the interface to other written languages.
Tux Print will be released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
New Breed Software is the developer of Tux Paint drawing program for children.
