Vnunet.com reports that one-third of the UK weather agency, The MetOffice, has moved to Linux. The organization says they are deploying Red Hat Novell's Ximian Red Carpet Enterprise to help streamline and manage Linux throughout their network. IT director, John MacGrillen says the move not only reduces costs, but also improve the agency collaboration with more 'Linux-focused' research departments, according to the article.
