Jan. 31, 2005
Scalix Corp. has launched a global partner program to promote its "richly featured" Linux-based email and calendaring platform. Scalix is a standards-based email and calendaring platform based on HP's OpenMail technology, which Scalix has licensed and ported to Linux.
Scalix claims that its messaging system is fully compatible with Microsoft Outlook and other desktop email clients, and that it is supported on all popular desktop platforms, including Linux, Windows, and Mac OS. With several high profile deployments in the US under its belt, Scalix claims that its software can be introduced into existing infrastructures without end user disruption, and that the platform scales across organizations of all sizes without costly licensing and vendor lock-in found in proprietary solutions.
According to Scalix, the Scalix Partner Network provides the following benefits to Scalix resellers: deal registration to protect the integrity of leads and accounts; market development funds; technical training and certification; competitive margins; zero-cost licenses for partner internal use; a secure partner portal which includes sales guides; marketing tools, product documentationp; technical resources and other materials to help insure successful selling.
"Demand for Linux-based email and calendaring solutions has grown significantly, creating opportunities for well-qualified VARs, distributors, resellers, consultants and systems integrators to meet market needs," said Scalix president and CEO Glenn Winokur. "With that in mind, we have carefully crafted a partner program offering financial and technical advantages for the channel and a growing base of Linux messaging expertise for our customers."
The Scalix Partner Network initially includes partners in North America, Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
