$199 AMD-powered PC with Lycoris Linux hits Walmart.com

Lycoris has announced the availability of Desktop/LX preloaded on Microtel-brand PCs for US $199. The system is based on the 1GHz AMD Processor, is equipped with 128 MB of memory, features on-board 10/100 network connection, 3D sound with speakers, and USB connecticity, according to the company.

This new PC includes:
  • New Help Center with interactive audio and visual tutorials
  • Enhanced USB device support, including Vivitar and Olympus digital cameras
  • Printer support for over 1000 printers
  • A "First Run Wizard" to simplify the setup of your Microtel PC
  • Better font handling

The Desktop/LX powered SYSMAR417 packs tools for basic computing, including a full photo editing suite and a light office suite as part of the standard package. For users that need full compatibility with Microsoft Office, the Lycoris ProductivityPak is available for US $49.98, also available at Wal-Mart.com.
