CodeWeavers software supports more Windows apps -- MS Outlook, Lotus Notes
May 13, 2004

CodeWeavers has added additional Windows application support for Linux systems and realigned its product line "to better meet the needs of individuals and enterprises wishing to run Windows applications under the Linux operating system" according to company CEO Jeremy White.

Available now, CrossOver Office 3.0 features support for over 30 popular Windows applications. In addition to Microsoft Office, Visio, and Internet Explorer, Intuit Quicken, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash, Adobe Photoshop and other popular Windows-based applications, the new release extends Linux support to Lotus Notes 6.51, Microsoft Outlook XP, and Microsoft Project. With the new release, Codeweavers has also integrated their browser plug-in application into all CrossOver Office products, extending CrossOver Plugin support for popular browser plug-ins such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, eFax, iPIX, QuickTime, Real Player, Shockwave Director, Windows Media Player, and Macromedia Flash.

The company has released CrossOver Office Standard, targeting home users with a US $40 price tag. The traditional CrossOver Office product is now the Professional edition. CodeWeavers has realigned their support program to reflect the new product line.

Because CrossOver Plugin will no longer be available as a standalone product, existing customers will be automatically upgraded to the Office products and can get more details at Codeweavers website.

Minnesota-based CodeWeavers has also made some changes to product support and upgrades. The CrossOver Office Standard edition includes six months free technical support for installation and product support only, and includes free upgrades for six months. All multi-license CrossOver Office customers are automatically upgraded to CrossOver Office Professional with a full year of product upgrades and extended support. CrossOver Office Professional customers with 100 or more seatswill have 12 months of "Level One" support along with limited defect resolution.

Now available, CrossOver Office 3.0 Standard is US $40 and the Professional version is US $75 with volume discounts available. CrossOver Office Server Edition, targeting networked thin clients, is now available for US $695 without client licenses. Educational customers can purchase CodeWeavers' Professional and server products with a 30% discount.
