At O'Reilly's devcenter, Tom Adelstein interviews Andy Stein, the CIO of Newport News, Virginia. In the wake of severe budget cuts and facing system interoperability, Stein looked to open source Linux as part of his solution for IT in government. Stein, who hails from the private sector, provides insight into what problems local governments face and how they can deploy open source components in the enterprise.
