| A review of Mandriva 2007 Spring edition |
May 14, 2007
Linux reviewer Ki Mun recently published a review of Mandriva 2007 Spring. "More than any other Linux release that I have encountered, the quality of Mandriva 2007 Spring Edition depends largely on which version (Free Spring 2007, One Spring 2007, Mandriva Linux 2007 Spring) you download," Mun wrote.
He was not pleased with the freely downloable edition ("a horrid mess"), but the longer he used Spring Mandriva One, the more he liked the operating system.
"Default fonts looked great on an LCD monitor, and quite a few applications had the shine of professional applications (like Software Management)," Mun wrote. "The operating system itself feels responsive and runs stable.
"If you want a Linux distro that is easy to use and has a bright colorful look, Spring Mandriva One would make a great choice … just stay away from the Free Edition," Mun wrote.
