Taiwan promotes open-source software

ComputerWeekly reports that Taiwan will put US $3.4 million into the promotion of open-source software development. Working with twenty local companies, the government is helping subsidize development of Linux. The goal? The government aims to have 30% of servers and 5% of personal computers operating on open-source software by 2007, according to the aticle.
