The final release plan for KDE 3.0 has been updated at the KDE.org website. The next preliminary release will be called "release candidate 1". March 8 is the deadline for creation of the final 3.0 version, after which KDE 3.0 will be readied for general download in binary package format by approximately March 18.

The major change in KDE 3.0 will be the switch to Qt 3, as well as new features and bugfixes.
