A simple Linux backup method
Jul. 11, 2006

A new how-to article by Steven J. Rosen provides an easy and reliable method for non-technical Linux users to backup their important data. It's simple, easy to set up and use, and can be completely automated, Rosen says.

"One of the main strengths of my method is that it's simple, easy to set up and use, and can be completely automated. Since I use this method to back up my home systems, the method as well as the main backup programs presented here have been tested in my environment for a couple of years," Rosen writes.

"You hear it all the time from writers and your geek friends: 'You should backup your computers.' Well, here's one more geek to bug you about it again, but also to give some help," he adds.

Rosen provides detailed step-by-step instructions on how to setup and automate the entire backup process. Included are tables of information, screen shots, and links to some open-source software Rosen wrote to simplify the process.
