WineX 2.01 now available for Linux users
May 20, 2002

This announcement was posted on the Transgaming's website . . .

While most of our efforts recently have been going towards the top items in the polling booth, such as improved installers and faster 2D support, we thought it would be valuable to make available an interim release with some less important improvements. WineX 2.01 is available now in RPM, deb, and tgz format packages.

This release includes:
  • Better support for copy protection with SCSI CD-ROM devices, including ide-scsi used for most CD-Writers
  • Support for CounterStrike 1.4 anti-cheat feature
  • Fixes for shell menu issues with KDE 3
  • A fix for the incorrect error message "Can't find wine"
  • A fix to better support some DRI cards in some Direct3D 8 games, such as Max Payne.
  • Official documentation (available as a seperate download)
