Xandros, Inc. has appointed Andreas Typaldos as CEO. Mr. Typaldos is a 30-year technology veteran and and was founder of AxsOne (formerly Computron), a global software firm supplying Fortune 500 companies with financial services, content management and compliance software solutions.
In a statement, Typaldos said, "Xandros has the top product many Windows users are waiting for: The touch and feel of their known Windows desktop, with the stability and security of the Linux platform. Xandros has an enormous market potential." Mr. Typaldos' goal is "to build Xandros into a major enterprise solutions provider by developing the company's technology vision and products, forging strategic relationships, exploiting key market opportunities, and extending the organizational infrastructure in sales, marketing, and customer services."
Typaldos has ventured into Linux previously as an early investor in Linux Global Partners -- involved in the funding of Linux veterans Ximian, Xandros, and CodeWeavers. Typaldos is currently Chairman/Managing Member of Enikia, a state-of-the-art system-on-a-chip semiconductor company focused on delivering broadband and multi-media distribution over electrical power lines.
