| Linux on 19% of mid-sized business' desktops according to analyst |

NewsFactor reports on the rapid pace of Linux adoption in the mid-sized business sector. Estimates of mid-size businesses now using the OpenOffice.org suite are about 6 percent, Linux on desktops are "some 19 percent," and 26 percent ran Linux servers according to new research from Jupiter Research's Joe Wilcox.
Says Sam Hiser, Marketing project leader for OpenOffice,org, "It's simply that it works great, it's coded better, and it costs less -- it's free . . . There's no question that open-source office suites are technologically true, robust and secure enough. Linux desktops are about to explode."
