| HP PCs to ship with Turbolinux in Asia |

Tokyo-based Desktop Linux software maker TurboLinux said Tuesday that HP Compaq business PCs in Asia will ship with Turbolinux Desktop (10D) Linux-based operating system.
Geared to business users, the PCs are precertified for TurboLinux software. Based on the latest Linux kernel, 2.6, the distribution features OpenOffice.org 1.1 and support for advanced technologies like 802.11b, FireWire, CD-ROM burning, Bluetooth, and digital camera software, according to the company. Updates to the OS are available via the Turbolinux website and downloads will offers preloaded PC software, security patches, and other applications available under the GPL.
Turbolinux will be available immediately on HP systems shipping in the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
