China pushes locally grown Linux

CNET is reporting that China's State Council is set to rule that government agencies and programs must use locally developed software for all system upgrades. The policy is a response to security concerns and seeks to eliminate the dominance of U.S.-based Microsoft on desktop computers in China, according to the article. The Chinese government has previously endorsed Red Flag Linux as the Linux of choice.
