| Chinese PC maker offers Linux PCs |

Lenovo Group, China's largest PC vendor, has launched two new Linux PCs with Red Flag Linux software preinstalled. Legend Group Limited changed its English company name to "Lenovo Group Limited" on April 1, 2004. The new PC products -- the Kaitian M 4600 and Qitian M 2000 -- will be made domestically and are distributed throughout China.
China has recently made headlines for government efforts that are driving the adoption of Linux into the country. With government support, Red Flag Software is leading an initiative to support the use of Linux and develop open source applications for education, resources, finance and communications.
