Nov. 24, 2004
Top Chinese Linux maker Red Flag has added Opera to its latest desktop operating system. Red Flag Desktop will ship with the award-winning Opera browser, which is widely hailed for being faster, smaller, and more standards-compliant than other Internet browsers. Opera also includes an email client and IRC-compatible chat.
Linux has gained momentum in Asia largely due to strong government support. Oracle, AMD, Dell, HP, Langchao, NEC, and Sun have all announced plans to certify their products for -- and support the adoption of -- Asianux as a Linux standard in Asia.
Red Flag is the preferred Linux software solutions provider to the Chinese government.
