| HP offers Mandrake 9.1 preloaded for business customers from $349 |

HP today announced the availability of an HP Compaq Business Desktop with Mandrake 9.1 preinstalled. The new d220 Microtower targets small- and medium-sized business (SMB) customers. Pricing starts at an estimated price of US $349, aaccording to the company.
The base unit hosts an Intel Celeron 2.0-gigahertz processor, 40Gb hard drive, and 128-megabyte DDR SDRAM. Customers also can opt for an Intel Pentium 4 2.4-gigahertz processor, 40-gigabyte hard drive and 128-megabyte DDR SDRAM for as low as US $499. Other configurations and additional options are available from HP.
HP Compaq desktops are available with either Microsoft or Mandrake Linux. They are avilable for purchase from HP beginning July 7.
