Linux boasts secure, reliable networking via TCP/IP protocols according to a data released from software inspection company Reasoning in this report from Stephen Shankland at CNet.
Said the Mountain View, California-based company in a study, "The open-source implementation of TCP/IP in the Linux kernel clearly exhibits a higher code quality than commercial implementations in general-purpose operating systems."
