ComputerWeekly reports on the latest Desktop Linux news from the Enterprise Linux Forum Conference and Expo in Washington, DC. Proclaiming Linux ready for the desktop today, Nat Friedman, vice president of research and development for the Ximian division of Novell, urged Linux vendors to aim for "situations where users run just a handful of basic programs such as office and e-mail software."
