The Kubuntu project, a sub-project of Ubuntu Linux, has announced a preview release of Kubuntu 5.10 Breezy Badger. The beta release for the next version of Kubuntu, dubbed "Kubuntu 5.10 Preview," is now available, according to DistroWatch. New in this release are the latest KDE 3.4.2, OpenOffice 2 beta 2, and X.Org 6.8.2.
Screenshots of the Kubuntu 5.10 Preview are available at OSDir, here.
Meanwhile, the fourth test release of the upcoming Ubuntu Linux 5.10 Breezy Badger is also available for download and testing, in the form of "Ubuntu Linux 5.10 Colony CD 4," according to DistroWatch. This will be the final Colony CD release before the Breezy preview, so end-user testing is encouraged (be sure to send in a report to ubuntu-devel at lists.ubuntu.com).
Significant installer changes since Colony 3, according to the project, include: "many fixes to the live CD, including usplash integration; GRUB tries harder to boot even when the BIOS fails to pass a boot drive; APT configuration when the network is unavailable should now be much faster."
An OSDir screenshot tour of Ubuntu Linux 5.10 Colony 4 is available here.
