Sun reports India's desktops are gaining StarOffice at rapid pace

Rediff.com reports that StarOffice 6.0 has made significant gains in less than a year on the market in India, landing in top banks, government agencies and companies. With an estimated savings of 50 to 75 percent in licensing costs compared to similar proprietary software, StarOffice delivers a "quality, low-cost, multi-platform office suite" says Kia-Chiang Ng, director mid-market segment, Sun Microsystems, South Asia.
